silverchair was in Paris for the second time this year.

Their day began at 3 p.m. in the studios of the Parisian radio station OUÏ FM where they were interviewed and Daniel played Ana's Song (Open Fire) in an EXCELLENT acoustic solo version. It was actually broadcast at 7 p.m. because so many fans showed up the last time they appeared at the station.

Their show took place in one of the biggest concert halls in all of Paris, le Zénith, where they had been invited by the Offspring to open for them. Actually, there were four bands playing.

The first of them was A; they were quite punk and I enjoyed them. There were a few fans in the mosh pit even though hardly anyone had heard about them.

Next came Lit, and I was pretty disappointed because I only knew the single (My Own Worst Enemy). The album has only been out for a few days in France.

Then came the same songs as were played in Nïmes to warm up the audience: Welcome to the Jungle by Guns 'n' Roses, Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols and finally the loud Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine, followed by Dirty Deeds by AC/DC.

Then began the Taxi Driver music and silverchair took the stage. They played exactly the same show as last week in Nîmes. Daniel wore his black shirt and trousers with a silver tie. He had lots of problems with his sound and his plugs. At one point he shook his head saying, "No, that's wrong." He was less talkative than at Nîmes, but Ben and Chris smiled a lot. I preferred their gig in Nîmes, but the Paris show was very good all the same!

After silverchair, the Offspring came on stage and the crowd really enjoyed them. I think it was the first time I have seen such a communion between a band and a crowd -- it was awesome even if I don't like their music too much. If you like the band, you'd really have enjoyed the show.

We all hope that silverchair will be back soon in France!

Pour la deuxième fois cette année, silverchair était à Paris.

Leur journée commença à 15h dans les studios de la radio parisienne OUÏ FM où ils furent interviewés et Daniel joua Ana's Song (Open Fire) dans une version solo acoustique EXCELLENTE. Ceci ne fut en fait diffusé qu’à 19h car la fois dernière, trop de fans s’étaient rendus à la station.

Leur concert se tenait dans l’une des plus grandes salles de Paris, le Zénith, où ils étaient invités par the Offspring pour qu’ils ouvrent leur concert. En fait, quatre groupes jouèrent ce soir-là.

Le premier d’entre eux fut A; ils étaient assez punk et je les ai appréciés. Il y avait quelques fans dans la fosse bien though presque personne n’avait entendu parler d’eux.

Puis se fut le tour de Lit, et je fus particulièrement déçu car je ne connaissais que le single (My Own Worst Enemy). L’album était disponible en France que depuis quelques jours.

Puis on entendait les mêmes chansons qu’à Nîmes pour chauffer le public: Welcome to the Jungle par Guns 'n' Roses, Pretty Vacant par the Sex Pistols et enfin Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine, suivi de Dirty Deeds by AC/DC.

Puis commença la music de Taxi Driver et silverchair prit place sur scène. Ils jouèrent exactement les mêmes chansons qu’il y a une semaine à Nîmes. Daniel portait une chemise et un pantalon noirs avec une cravate couleur argent. Il avait pas mal de problèmes avec le son de sa guitare ainsi qu’avec ses jacks. A un moment, il hocha la tête, l’air de dire " Non, ça ne va pas. " Il parlait moins qu’à Nïmes, mais Chris et Ben souriaient beaucoup. J’ai préféré leur concert de Nîmes, mais ce concert à Paris était très bien quand même!

Après silverchair, the Offspring prirent place et la foule apprécia réellement leur performance. Je pense que ce fut la première fois que je voyais une telle communion entre un groupe et son public – c’était extraordinaire même si je n’aime pas trop leur musique. Si vous aimez le groupe, vous auriez vraiment apprécié le concert.
