Silverchair's Daniel Johns and Ben Gillies won the prestigious Songwriter of the Year Award at the 1995 APRA (Australasian Performing Rights Association) Songwriters Awards held in Sydney in November. The pair were selected for the special award by the board of APRA based on the body of work they have written over the past year.
