The members of Silverchair were surprised when two naked women joined them on stage
during their performance at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, N.Y. Feb. 16.
Because it was the 'chair's last night as opening act for the Red Hot Chili Peppers before
departing for European tour dates of their own, the Chili Peppers hired two dancers to
cavort around the stage in the nude as silverchair played.
MTV's Matt Pinfield reported on 120 Minutes that the Peppers secured the services of
the women from a New York City strip club. Pinfield said the band members' parents were
looking on from the wings and were probably as surprised as Daniel, Chris and Ben.
