MTV Shows Live Version of "Findaway"

Another new Silverchair video is making its way into the hands and VCRs of collectors.

MTV in the U.S. did a live broadcast from the Feb. 9 silverchair/Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Madison Square Garden. The majority of the broadcast featured the Peppers answering questions posted to them via MTV's chat room, but silverchair fans were treated to an unexpected surprise.

Not only were Daniel Johns and Ben Gillies interviewed live by MTV's Kennedy, but the network also showed that night's performance of Findaway. Brief glimpses of the band on stage were also seen earlier in the telecast. It was not immediately known if MTV would air the special or the Findaway video again.

In the interview, Kennedy asked Daniel if he had ever been on line.

"I don't know what that means," he said.

When asked if silverchair had a web site, Daniel said, "No, I don't think so."

Sony (the band's record label) features "silverchair's fallout shelter" on its World Wide Web server (complete with an animated frog). There are at least a dozen other sites on the "web" dedicated to Daniel and his mates.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: I'm surprised any of them can remember their names, considering their hellacious schedule and the worldwide attention that's been thrust upon them in the last 18 months!]
