Big boys don't cry when they fall off monkey bars and cut their knees. They get up and keep playing. That's exactly what silverchair vocalist and guitarist Daniel Johns did when he was pegged in the head by a flying bottle during a free concert Sept. 17 at the pier in Santa Monica, Calif. Smiling as though he'd successfully completed a rock & roll rite of passage, Johns finished the set, while blood streamed down his cheek. Afterward he was taken to a hospital where he received five stitches. The members of silverchair are back in Australia attending high school. They'll return to the States in November to tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
