ATN Australian correspondent Alex Jackson reports: Teenage grunge sensations silverchair look set to clean up at the Ninth Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Awards to be announced in Sydney next month. In the final nominations announced last week, silverchair headed the field with eight nominations, in the categories of Best Australian Album, Best Australian Single, Best Australian Group, Best Australian Alternative Release, Best Australian New Talent, Best Australian Debut Album, Best Australian Debut Single and Australian Song of the Year. silverchair's powerful debut album, frogstomp, continues to do big business in the U.S.; the album is just about to enter the Billboard Top 10.
